Mrs. Casey Schoening
Welcome to Music!
Mrs. Schoening was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She attended Omaha Public Schools and graduated from Omaha North High School. Mrs. Schoening went on to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha. During her time at UNO she was a member of the Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, and served on the Choir Council. She was also able to travel with the choirs at UNO and performed across Europe and in Mexico. Schoening student taught in Ralston Public Schools at both Ralston High School and at Meadows Elementary. She graduated from University of Nebraska at Omaha with her Bachelor's of Music in Education degree in the spring of 2010.
Mrs. Schoening started teaching music in Ralston Public Schools in the fall of 2010. Since then she has taught at Meadows Elementary, Karen Western Elementary, Seymour Elementary, and Wildewood Elementary. During her time in Ralston she has been able to assist at Ralston High School with the show choirs. She has also been a director of the Ralston Public Schools show choir, Ralston Sixth Dimension since 2012. Schoening earned her Master's of Music in Education degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in the winter of 2013.
In her free time Schoening is actively involved as a member of the Ralston Community Theatre board of directors, and she works as a section leader at St. Cecilia's Cathedral in the Cathedral Choir. Her work at St. Cecilia's has allowed her to perform frequently in the Omaha area and internationally with the choir in Rome. Schoening is also a staff member with The Iowa Ambassadors of Music. She works as a seciton leader with the Iowa Ambassadors of Music choir, and the group tours Europe every other summer. Outside of music, in her free time, Schoening plays slow pitch softball with her family members and close friends. She is married to Keith Schoening who is also a music educator and they have two wonderful sons, Harrison and Cooper.

Making Music Fun is a great website with many free printable activities for students to do at home to strengthen their music skills. They also have great composer biographies that are an appropriate length for elementary aged learners.

This website is a fun resource for students to learn about instruments, play music games, and even do some composing of their own. All ages welcome.
